Commitments and positive changes at the heart of the organisation

KARIBAN BRANDS strives for improvement and excellence through the implementation of an assessment, progress plan, codes of conduct, labels and/or standards with certifications that provide recognition of its efforts and commitment.

We have gradually implemented actions and tools that support sustainable development:

  • Implementing our responsible purchasing policy and due diligence process, through membership of Amfori from January 2023.
  • To combat problems linked to plastic pollution, we have significantly reduced the use of polybags and modified some of our packaging by moving towards recycled models.
  • We are progressively introducing attractive reusable wooden size cubes on beechwood hangers in our collections.
  • We have implemented an audit that aims to guarantee improved control of energy consumption (gas, electricity, fuel), to preserve the planet’s resources.
  • Carrying out a carbon assessment with the help of DCO2 (a Toulouse-based start-up), in accordance with the ISO 14067 standard and for scopes 1-2 and 3 over several years (2020, 2021, 2022, etc.), which reflects the efforts made to combat climate change. This constitutes a powerful diagnostic tool for direct and indirect greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions generated by every sphere of the company’s business. To make the most of these results, build our action plan to reduce GHG emissions and give it a high degree of credibility, we are now working from a scientific basis (SBTi type/in line with the Paris-COP21 Agreement), by developing in-depth thinking in the context of our multi-year carbon trajectory (2030 then 2050 targets).
  • Optimum waste management thanks to selective sorting bins and the application of the fundamental principles of the circular economy: reduce, reuse and recycle.

  • Continuously improving the working environment, in particular the renovation of premises and the comfort of break/relaxation areas.
  • We provide reusable coffee cups, plates and glasses on the site and at trade shows.
  • We have introduced charging stations for electric/hybrid vehicles to encourage employees to move towards modes of transport that are less dependent on fossil fuels.
  • We support eco-grazing as an alternative to mechanical mowing. This project was built on a partnership with the Eurocentre mixed association and the local company Tondobêle (an area of approximately 3 hectares).
  • Installing five beehives to anchor our approach within the local economy and to support agriculture in our region while preserving biodiversity.

We regularly educate, encourage and ask our employees for their input. All ideas for improvement are studied and taken into account, thanks, in particular, to an ideas box. Above all, good practices require collective awareness and for everyone to do their bit. The very first idea to emerge from this collaborative approach was the creation of a workplace library, which allows our employees to enjoy taking breaks that combine relaxation and cultural opportunities.

KARIBAN BRANDS is committed to a lasting positive impact on the environment.
